
A savoury bite-sized appetizer with the heavenly combination of bacon, mushrooms and cream cheese. Your guests will be looking for more.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 lb (250g) bacon (about 7 slices)
- 2 onions
- 2/3 lb (300g) mushrooms
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 250 g cream cheese
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cups melted butter
- 20 slices white bread
Instructions:
- Coarsely chop the bacon and place in frying pan over medium heat and cook until almost crispy.
- Finely chop the onions and mushrooms. Stir into the almost crispy bacon in the frying pan and cook until softened (about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the Dijon mustard and cream cheese and keep stirring until cream cheese is creamy. Remove from heat.
- Trim the crusts from each bread slice and flatten each slice.
- Spread 2 tablespoons of the filling on each slice and roll into a log. Cut each log in half.
- Place the roll-ups, seam side down, onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Brush each roll-up lightly with the melted butter.
- Bake in a preheated 375°F oven until golden (about 15 minutes).
